WGAT has moved a long way from the original idea. We are now building the governance, partnerships, evidence and funding strategy needed to move towards delivery.

Where are we now?
We’re building the foundations for delivery.
The concept has progressed and discussions with key stakeholders have continued. Work is now focused on governance, funding, partnerships, community engagement and preparing the route towards planning and detailed design.

Concept and technical development
Refining what the track needs to achieve and identifying the technical work required before a planning submission and final design can be prepared.
Governance
A charitable incorporated organisation application has been submitted. We will confirm the outcome when the formal process is complete.
Stakeholder engagement
Continuing conversations with relevant authorities, sporting bodies, clubs, community organisations and users of Whitemans Green.
Funding and partnerships
Developing a credible funding strategy across grants, charitable support, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and individual contributions.
Community case
Building awareness and demonstrating that the proposed track can benefit people of different ages, abilities and activity levels across the wider community.
