Who Are We Working With?
So far we have engaged with:
- England Athletics. The main sports body that will champion our initiative with other interested sport bodies, and will assist with the identification of possible funding sources for us in the future. They are also providing some great contacts, such as architects and contractors who have previously worked on Active Tracks in other parts of the country. These contacts are proving invaluable and allowing us to make good progress with design.
- Mid-Sussex District Council. MSDC are the landowners at Whitemans Green and as such are a key stakeholder for us. The Council has been supportive of our initiative to date and will assist with progressing our application for development work when we progress to that stage.
- Cuckfield Parish Council and Ansty and Staplefield Parish Council. We have presented our initial ideas to both of these elected bodies in order to gather any initial concerns, e.g. the dark sky policy of the South Downs. We will continue to update and inform these bodies as we progress through the planning process.
- Haywards Heath Rugby Club. We are working closely with the team at WGSC to ensure our plans link with the future plans for the Sport Club and the rugby pitches surrounding it.
As we progress toward a fund raising stage we want to ensure as many local sports clubs as possible are engaged and can contribute where they are able.
